Located in southeastern Utah, USA, the Canyonlands National Park, conserves a vibrant landscape windswept into numerous mesas, buttes and canyons by the tributaries of the Green River and the Colorado River. The Park has four districts: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, rivers and the Maze.

All four districts have their own distinct characteristics but have the same ancient desert environment. The Canyonlands National Park is Utah’s largest national park.

Kangaroo rats, desert rodents, wood rats, ringtails, skunks, bobcats, foxes, bats, mountain lions and owls are desert animals that inhabit the park. Wild animals that are active at night and dawn include the desert bighorn, mule deer, porcupines, coyotes, black-tailed jackrabbits, desert cottontails and songbirds. Canyonlands National Park is open to visitors 24 hours a day for the entire year. Visitor center’s operating hours vary each season. The park is close every December 25 and January 1.

The Yosemite National Park is located in California, nearby Madera, Mariposa and Tuolumne counties. The Great Smokey Mountains is located in the borders of North Carolina and Tennessee, in the U.S. The highest peak, in this range of mountains, is the Clingmans Dome, with an elevation of 6,643 feet.
